Water, perpetually in motion, is unleashed in the waterfalls of Gullfoss and peaceful in the port of Reykjavik. Almost asleep in the depths of the islands fjords, previously eroded by water\u2019s relentless motion, sometimes freezing, this same water glides gracefully in the J\u00f6kurs\u00e0rlon.<\/p>\n
The earth, carved by Water in the riverbeds of Gaesavatnaleid, rests peacefully in the fields of lava, signs of former revolts.<\/p>\n
Examples of when earth overcomes its rival and captures water in its craters provide a rare opportunity to reflect on this wild element, harnessed and still somehow unsettling.<\/p>\n
