• After Vietnam, Paris, Morocco, Madagascar, Iceland, Thailand and Singapore, Claire Xuan presents her two recent, eight and ninth works “Provence” and “Japan”.
Claire Xuan, born in 1966 is a confirmed photograph, graphic designer and has a passion for distant destinations which her creativity immortalises with a collection of journals, photographs, presented by “ELEMENTS EDITION” establish in Paris in 1998. Claire’s inspiration, and artistic skills have created a rare interpretation of the 5 universal elements: Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water.

Claire Xuan has just completed "Japan". Following Vietnam, Morocco, Paris, Madagascar, Iceland, Thailand, Singapore and Provence, this latest piece is the ninth artist's book to be released as part of the "5 Elements" collection.
To mark the 150th anniversary of Franco-Japanese relations and the release of these works, the city of Paris organised the "In the Open Air" exhibition at the Bagatelle Gallery as part of its Japanese season. Bagatelle has opened its doors to over 85,000 visitors.
Premiered at the French Japanese Institute in Tokyo and at the UN Gallery of the United Nations University, ,the touring exhibition was hosted last summer in Fukuoka, Osaka, Sapporo and Kyoto, which was celebrating the 50th anniversary of its friendship pact with Paris. Upon returning to France, the "In the Open Air" collection, along with the "Provence" collection, was exhibited at the tourist office in Aix-en-Provence in November and at the Fnac in December, where several meetings with Claire Xuan were organised. The "Japan" collection was exhibited at the gift shops of the Petit Palais museum and the Museum of Decorative Arts in Paris throughout the winter of 2008.

• The Travel Journals are unique in their conception and their contents.
The Journals are unique in their conception, individually signed and limited to 999 examples. They are composed of a series of original photographs edited using traditional papers made exclusively from natural fibres 100% cotton. The pages are assembled in a presentation display box made entirely by hand. Each of the works is a collectors item and a piece of art, inkeeping with a collection of original engravings, a painting or photographs. The entire collection is also available in a convenient pocket version.
• Expositions to date
The two portfolios "Japan" and "provence" have been presented at "The Press Club of France" in winter 2008. The entire collection was presented for the first time in Japan, in Tokyo at the French Japanese Institute of Tokyo in winter 2006 .
“Thaïland”, sixth journal has been presented at the Royal Siam Society of Bangkok in March 2005.
The Museum of Photography of Reykjavik launched “Iceland” summer 2003.
“Vietnam and the 5 Elements” was released in December 98, and selected for a major Paris exhibition “De Mains de Maitres, les Métiers d’art de l’an 2000 ”, held in the “Palais des Congres“ in Paris in 1999.
It is also exhibited in the recently restored “Guimet Museum” . “Le Maroc” was presented at the “Institut du Monde Arabe” for the exhibition “Le temps du Maroc”, “L’Eau et Air de Paris” at the Office of Tourism of Paris” and “Madagascar ” presented in the largest bookstores in France in 2001 (La Hune, Dialogues, Sauramps, La Galerne, Virgin Megastore).
Claire Xuan’s works are considered as an excellent support for PR and communication programmes or an ideal gift for a prestigeous occasion. Claire also prepares specific presentations, by contract, for special events.
